"Looking behind the digital aesthetics and into the heart of a design is a new way of seeing"
It was hard refining down to a single area in Media and my main two passions lie in animation and gaming. Because this is a movie though I thought an animation would be apt and would also allow me to flair (ha) my drawing skills which is also another passion of mine. Because I wanted to do this I decided to focus on character creation in animation and show people a character from just pencil on paper to a pretty professional looking model on the computer. This would then briefly outline what it is real animation companies go through when designing their characters. I'm going to use photoshop as it is now a program I am familiar with and seems to have all of the functions I require to touch up my character. I did think of using an animation program called Blender but discovered it was quite hard to pick up especially considering I've never used it before. My two sets of media that have inspired me are my precedents; Sintel the movie and an image from 'Lady and the Tramp' by Walt Disney. Sintel is a short movie by the Blender Foundation which used Blender to create it. It's always been of inspiration to me as it closes the gap between what I'm doing now, and what I want to do in the future which is possibly work for a big time animation company. It shows just how beautiful Blender is and how it can create masterpieces. I would have liked to create something like this but know I do not currently have the time or skills needed. My second precedent is an image taken from Lady and Tramp, a Disney movie created by Walt Disney. This is another point of inspiration as this is what I want my character to look like with the smooth likes, shadow and professional look.
